One of the things that continuously puzzles me is how our industry believes that our offerings are the answer to all of our customers’ prayers when indeed we are providing tools that should deliver business outcomes for our customers – rather than prohibiting progress.

Through my career, I have always been in close contact with the sales organisations of the companies where I worked  – either as a Key Account Manager, Sales Manager or Senior Executive.

In either situation, I have noticed how some of the most basic disciplines of sales are the most efficient in delivering results – but unfortunately also frequently the most neglected.
